Triathlon (London Olympic Tri)

Chloe is an exceptional person having been very over weight 3 and half years ago. Since then, through a massive amount of hard work and seeing myself every so often, she has managed to loose around 7 and half stone, quite staggering. When we first met I asked her about goal setting and maybe aiming to do a triathlon and she basically laughed me out of the gym.  However, just before I went off on the row across the Atlantic she told me she signed up for the London triathlon and upon my return, would I consider putting together a 12 week training plan in order for her to finish the London Triathlon. I jumped at the chance, as I knew that this would be an amazing thing for her to do.

We had a chat about what she felt she could do and she was a model student. She wanted to train 6 times a week and thought she could handle two hours a day. As she had lost weight she had also lost all her little injuries, poor knees, poor lower back and general poor stamina. She wanted to push and had got herself to a position where she was able to push. The programme I devised was a tough one but I didn't and wasn't going to allow her to train for two hours a-day. I varied the sessions between swim, bike and run but also with the gym. I told her to follow the programme as much as possible but not to worry if she missed a day here or there. Occasionally she called saying she was tied etc, but she followed the programme all the way, and the rest is....well....history. She loved it and has already signed up for the next event. Personally, I think we might be able to get an ironman out of her!!!

Chloe's time for the Olympic distance London Triathlon was 3 hours 6 minutes 2 seconds. Really not that bad considering out first session all that time ago lasted 20 minutes!
